After years of vigilante work, many of the world’s heroes and villains have organized themselves into certain factions. Each team has it’s different origins and own motivations. Yet at the end of the day each team is out to accomplish it’s set goal. Characters can be assigned to a team of your choosing. If your character is the type to fly solo, feel free to list them as an independent affiliate!

Formed in the 1980’s, The Avengers are one of the first and most recognized superhero teams. Drawn together during the early 80’s following terrorist actions in the middle east, a band of American Superheroes rose to become one of the most popular teams in history. While the team has gone through numerous line-up changes over the years, many recognizable heroes have served time on this golden roster. Currently based in The Avengers Tower in New York, the team continues to enter the future with their eyes set on upholding the virtues and honor of the world.

When knowledge of the X-Gene began to surface in society during the 70’s, the Mutant population was repeatedly struck down and shoved to the outskirts of society. It wasn’t until 1979 that a team of Mutant Heroes emerged and became the face of Mutantkind. Functioning out of the X-Institute in Manhattan, New York, The X-Men serve as the protective force of much of the mutant community. Many of the team members serve as faculty at the X-Institute which houses a school and community center for many youths of the mutant community. While the team has been around since the late 70’s, the roster has changed several times but all members maintain their mission of fighting for the advancement of mutant rights.

A result of an accident gone wrong, The Fantastic Four were originally a team of scientists that fell victim to the destruction of a science experiment that went array during 1995. As a result of the catastrophe, these four individuals had their genetics warped to the point that they were imbued with superhuman abilities. Following their skewed transformation, The Fantastic Four have entered society as a team of heroes who have constantly pushed the boundaries of science forward. Presently the team functions out of The Baxter Building in midtown Manhattan and are holding steady as a force for good and knowledge.

The newest recruits to the call of justice, The Young Avengers emerged in 2006. Composed of a team of young superheroes, The Young Avengers made a name for themselves as the youngest champions for society. Functioning out of a swanky loft in Brooklyn the team has often battled against major foes and proven time and time again that despite their age they can aspire to be the next team of Avengers. While their feats have cemented them in a place of glory the team does propose the question: Are these heroes too young to be in such a fight?

Originating out of the shadows in 1986, The Brotherhood has come out as one of the opposing forces in the mutant community. Compromised of a team of mutants, The Brotherhood holds the belief that those imbued with the X-Gene are inherently superior to any other race on the planet. Often functioning as an organized group of terrorists, The Brotherhood often tries to attack innocent civilians and recruit confused mutants to their ranks. Based out of a old hotel building in The Bronx, The Brotherhood often fights for their cause of superiority under the command of their leader.

Following the exit of a group of former Avengers who fell into wayward and otherwise morally gray paths, The Masters of Evil emerged in 1991 as a unified group of villains. While their roster has changed and evolved over the decades, this team of villains has been one of the most prominent forces of evil in society. Often terrorizing or even attacking cities for the sake of global conquest. After all, just because the good guys can work together doesn’t mean the bad guys cant hop onto the same bandwagon. While their base of operations has moved around over the years, they have presently set their home in an old abandoned warehouse in the industrial part of New York where they sit plotting their next diabolical act.

One of the most chaotic team of villains to emerge in 2002, The Sinister Six have proven time and time again that sometimes the villains work alone for a reason. While the group is evil in their own right for their constant crimes against society and random acts of menace, one thing that is most notable about this team is their constant bickering. Comprised of a group of the biggest crime heads in the world, most of the members spend most of the time fighting each other instead of the good guys. Still functioning out of the Fisk Building in the heart of Downtown New York, this team show that their sinister antics can definitely make up for their lack of cooperation.

While many other heroes function on a team setting there are a group of individuals who rather fight for good on their own. These individuals carry their own mantle and have made their own mark in society for whatever cause they fight for. While they may not be attached to any team in particular, their legends are not to be forgotten thanks to the good they contribute to the world.
